Dr. Daniel Schachter FRCPC, DABD
Dr. Schachter's work focuses on improving the appearance and health of skin using procedures and products such as Botox Cosmetic®, Botox® for excess sweating, Restylane®, Perlane®, collagen, Hylaform®, lasers and other light sources, sclerotherapy and chemical peels. Dr. Schachter has years of experience in medical and cosmetic dermatology. He is a consultant dermatologist on staff at Sunnybrook & Women's College Health Science Centre in Toronto and he teaches general dermatology and cosmetic dermatology at the University of Toronto. He is also involved in training resident doctors. Dr. Schachter is the consultant dermatologist to the Toronto Raptors basketball team, and many newspapers, magazines and television shows have sought his expertise.
Dr. Schachter in on the board of the Canadian Dermatology Association. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and is certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Dr Schachter personally performs all Botox injections for his Toronto Botox patients.
Dr. Anne Curtis FRCPC, DABD
Dr. Curtis is a dermatologist, with a special interest in cosmetic procedures such as laser, collagen and hyaluronic acid injections, facial peeling, sclerotherapy, Botox® and Botox Cosmetic® injections.
Dr Curtis is a clinical dermatologist at the University Health Network and Sunnybrook & Women's College Health Sciences Centre, where she is co-director of the Ricky Kanee Schachter Laser Unit. Dr. Curtis is currently the vice-president of the Toronto Dermatological Society, vice-president of the Eglinton Branch Society of the Ontario Medical Association, and member of council of the OMA. She has done many presentations on lasers in dermatology and has been co-investigator in a multi-centre, randomized, double blind side-to-side comparison study of Hylaform® versus Perlane®.
Dr. Curtis is a lecturer at the University of Toronto, where she teaches medical students and dermatology residents. She also supervises dermatology electives for many family practice residents.
Dr. Curtis is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, in Dermatology and Internal Medicine. She is also certified by the American Board of Dermatology and the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Benjamin Barankin, FRCPC FAAD
Dr. Benjamin Barankin is a dermatologist and a widely published author and researcher, with more than 300 articles in publications related to dermatology and the humanities. He has interest and expertise in Botox Cosmetic®, Botox® for hyperhidrosis, fillers such as Restylane®, Perlane®, Juvéderm™, Evolence™ & Radiesse®, chemical peels, sclerotherapy, microdermabrasion, and lasers. His medical expertise is featured monthly in the Canadian Journal of Diagnosis, Patient Care, the Canadian Journal of CME, and Skin & Aging. Dr. Barankin has presented nationally and internationally at numerous medical conferences, reviews research papers for several medical journals and sits on the advisory and editorial boards of publications such as the National Review of Medicine and the International Journal of Dermatology among others.
Over the last five years, Dr. Barankin has gained international distinction as the author of five books related to dermatology. In 2002, he co-founded Dermanities (www.dermanities.com), an online quarterly journal for patients and physicians dedicated to the study of the relationship between dermatology and the humanities. The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) recently invited him to attend the AAD Leadership Forum in recognition of his leadership in the field. Dr. Barankin's expertise is frequently sought by numerous media outlets including: ELLE, FLARE, Good Times, Elevate, Canoe, Canadian Living, Glow, CBC Radio and National Post. He regularly teaches medical students, residents and fellow physicians in the art & practice of dermatology.
Dr. Barankin combines his interest in the humanities with his knowledge of medical & cosmetic dermatology to optimize the care of his patients with skin concerns. Dr. Barankin personally performs every Botox injection in the Toronto Botox Clinic. Dr. Barankin is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, and his memberships include the Canadian Medical Association, Canadian Dermatology Association, American Academy of Dermatology, and International Society of Dermatology.
Dr. Anatoli Freiman, MD, FRCPC, DABD
Dr. Anatoli Freiman is a Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada board-certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon. He completed dermatology training at the University of Toronto and obtained further specialized education at the top academic dermatology centers, including Harvard University and New York University. Dr. Freiman has lectured nationally and internationally at medical conferences and has over 200 presentations, research publications, review articles, book and book chapters in dermatology. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons, and a member of numerous dermatology societies and journal editorial teams. Dr. Freiman is the consultant dermatologist on staff at the Women’s College Hospital and teaches dermatology at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Freiman combines expertise in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. His cosmetic interest and skills are in procedures such as Botox, soft tissue fillers (Restylane & Juvederm), chemical peels, and multiple laser therapies. Dr. Sam Hanna, FRCPC, FAAD, DABD
Dr. Sam Hanna, FAAD is a board certified dermatologist and Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto and his medical training was undertaken at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. Thereafter, Dr. Hanna completed his medical internship and a year in cancer research at the University of Pittsburgh before his Dermatology training at The State University of New York at Buffalo.
Dr. Hanna became a partner in a large dermatology practice in Southeastern Pennsylvania for nearly ten years before moving back home to Toronto to practice where he is happy to be at The Dermatology Centre.
Dr. Hanna is the chair of the Canadian Dermatology Association’s Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee. He has lectured on advances in dermatologic skin disease treatments and on dermatology workforce issues. His expertise and interests include medical, procedural and cosmetic dermatology with a focus on optimising skin health and beauty using dermal fillers, Botox, and light and laser based therapies. |
